Following the path of the hibakusha and their commitment as peace activists, I seek a way to condemn the violations and war crimes that continue to occur in a silent world. In response to the brutality that surrounds us, I dedicate my body as a means of denunciation, using dance as a movement that calls for peace.
How do wars contribute to increasing racial divisions, reinforcing fascism, and marginalizing and weakening diverse identities and cultures within society, particularly in vulnerable societies? What mechanisms can be used to counter dogmatic and nationalist ideologies that breed violence and racial sectarianism between different segments of society? This creation was born out of the need to revive a form that transforms into movement and action, in order to demonstrate the urgency of finding ways to establish peace without resorting to armed force and deadly violence.
Peacefully revolves around the bodies and cultures of peoples vulnerable to fragmentation, generated by loss, injustice and authoritarianism, due to the political circumstances and crises imposed upon them. I wish to highlight and question the way in which the body, movement, gesture and dance appear in the reality of threat, danger and demand, where hope, desire and resilience also reside.?
